For IT managers
License management without a dedicated licensing system
As an IT manager you're often responsible for licences, but not for the budget or the contracts. Licens gives you one list of software and SaaS subscriptions with licence counts, prices and deadlines.
SaaS made buying easy – and keeping track hard
A new tool can be up and running on a company card in five minutes. A couple of years later, the business typically has overlapping tools, licences for people who have left, and annual plans that auto-renew while everyone thinks they're monthly. Good SaaS management is less about technology and more about knowing what you have, who owns it and when it can change.
Licens doesn't scan devices or count installations. It's a place to record every licence agreement with the number of licences, price, owner and notice deadline – so you're reminded before each renewal and can adjust the count or cancel in time.
License management in practice
Licence count per agreement
Record how many licences you pay for, and log changes with the reason “quantity change”.
Owner and deputy
Every licence has someone responsible and a backup, so nothing stalls during holidays or sick leave.
Reminder before renewal
Hear in good time to review licence counts, downgrade or switch.
Custom fields and tags
Tag agreements by system, platform or security classification.
Calendar feed
Put deadlines in Outlook or Google Calendar with a private iCal link.
Two-factor and audit log
TOTP-based two-factor authentication and a full log of changes.

Questions about license management
Does Licens connect to Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or other SaaS tools?
Not today. You record agreements and licence counts yourself, or import them from Excel. The focus is the agreement, the cost and the deadline.
How do I keep licence counts up to date?
When the count changes, enter a new price with the reason “quantity change”. The price history then shows whether higher costs came from more users or a higher price per user.
Can IT and finance share the same overview?
Yes. Both can be users in the same organisation, with roles controlling who can edit and who can see prices.
Where is the data stored?
In the EU/EEA, with row-level security ensuring one organisation can never see another's data. See the security page for details.
Can I control who sees licence costs?
Yes. You choose which roles can see prices and documents, so a viewer can see licences and deadlines without the amounts.
