Feature

From spreadsheet to full overview in an afternoon

Most businesses already have a list of agreements in Excel. Licens lets you import it with column mapping and a dry run, so you don't have to type everything again.

Bring what you already have

A spreadsheet is often a good starting point: it has the vendors, the amounts and some of the dates. The trouble is that it doesn't remind anyone, the columns mean slightly different things to different people, and it's easy to overwrite a cell without noticing.

Importing into Licens is designed to be safe. You map the columns in your file to fields in Licens, check a preview, see every row with an error, and run a dry run before anything is actually saved. Not sure about the format? Download the template.

The importer supports

  • CSV and Excel

Upload the file as it is – columns don't need specific names.

  • Column mapping

Choose which column is the vendor, expiry date, notice period, price and so on.

  • Preview

See how the rows will look in Licens before you import.

  • Per-row errors

Invalid date or missing value? You'll see exactly which row and field.

  • Dry run

Run the import without saving and review the result before you commit.

  • Downloadable template

Start from a ready-made template if you're building the list from scratch.

How to import

  1. Upload the file

Choose the CSV or Excel file with your agreements.

  2. Map the columns

Tell Licens what each column contains. Skip the ones you don't need.

  3. Dry run and fix errors

Review per-row errors, fix them in the file or skip the rows, and run again.

  4. Save

When everything looks right, import. Deadlines are calculated and reminders scheduled straight away.

Questions about import and export

Which date format should I use?

Common formats such as dd.mm.yyyy work. If a date can't be read, you'll be told which row before anything is saved.

Can I import notice periods in months?

Yes. You choose whether the notice period is in days or calendar months, and the deadline is calculated accordingly.

Are vendors looked up in the business register?

You can enrich vendors with a registry lookup after importing, for example by searching on organisation number.

Can I get my data out again?

Yes. You can export all data and documents as a zip file at any time. There's no lock-in.
